BIOGRAPHY

I’m an emerging artist living between Winchester and Marazion in Cornwall. After many years of teaching music, retirement has given me the freedom to fully explore my lifelong love of art.
My work is shaped by a fascination with mid-century abstract artists, their bold forms and confident gestures have deeply influenced my own visual language. When I create, I find myself completely present, not thinking about anything other than the marks I make, letting each one guide the next.
I’m particularly drawn to the interplay of line, shadow, and shape, and I enjoy working across different mediums to express my ideas intuitively. My work often explores strength and sensitivity, blending assertive marks with delicate gestures to question and reframe traditional visual languages.
Though I don’t intentionally set out to include it, there’s often a quiet musicality that emerges in my work; fluid lines and looping rhythms that echo my lifelong connection to music. I continue to experiment with curiosity and joy, bringing a sensitivity to both music and art into everything I create.
